Mississauga’s Neighbourhoods: Central Erin Mills

Central Erin Mills is one of the most popular communities in Mississauga. The area's appreciation rate has soared over the past few years in large part to its great amenities and its convenient location close to Highways 403 & 401. On top of that, the John Fraser school boundary has attracted many new families who are looking to make that next "step" into a bigger, better neighbourhood. Central Erin Mills has a great collection of large, detached homes, but for those looking for something more affordable, the area offers up many spacious condo townhomes. Right next door is the "Village in the City" of Streetsville that offers up great pubs, restaurants, and shops that give you that small town downtown feel.

Of course, the great school zone has attributed a lot to Central Erin Mill's success. You have all the Elementary schools in the top 30, the #4 ranked middle school, and the #1 high school in John Fraser. A lot of families see Central Erin Mills as a neighbourhood to aspire to getting into it and make that first, big, detached purchase here.

The freehold homes in this community were constructed starting in the late 1970's and 80's.

There are a few condominium apartment buildings and pockets of townhouses in the area, but the primary homes in Central Erin Mills are semi detached and detached homes. As a whole this community continues to shine with a strong committment by the residents to maintaining a safe, and clean environment in which to raise their families. First time buyers are a prevalent part of this community.

A very important factor when deciding where to purchase one's home, is the choosing the schools for your children. In addition to type (public or Catholic), factors such as location and walking distance need to be considered.

Parents most often look for guidance as to the quality of education being provided at the area schools. In addition to speaking with the school principal(s) parents may wish to turn to a broad based survey that purports to provide some measure of the output performance of individual schools and/or observe the trend of the schools' performance over time.

To assist you with your querries regarding schooling, the following chart may prove helpful. Just click on either "Website" for specific information regarding a subject school, or "Ranking", for for the Fraser Institute Rating data for the school. "N/A" implies that the subject school, for whatever reason, declined to participate in the comparative rating system fostered by The Fraser Inst. or was not insurveyed because it is not a publicly financed school.
